Throughout November, 14 EU-funded projects present their work in free online sessions organised by the Europeana Foundation. On 19 November, three projects CARARE works on take the floor for a day dedicated to 3D.
The Europeana Foundation is holding its Europeana Project Month 2026 from 10 to 26 November under the theme "The Data Space in Practice: Tools, Impact and Synergies". The series brings together 14 EU-funded projects in which Europeana is involved, and shows how the Common European Data Space for Cultural Heritage is being used in practice, from 3D digitisation to impact measurement.
Sessions take place online every Tuesday and Thursday in November. Morning sessions run from 09:30 to 12:00 CET, opening with half an hour of welcome and informal networking before project presentations from 10:00. Afternoon sessions run from 14:00 to 16:00 CET. Participation is free, but registration is required for each session.
A day for 3D on 19 November
CARARE is a member of the consortium that deploys the data space, coordinated by the Europeana Foundation, and as an accredited Europeana aggregator it specialises in archaeological and architectural heritage and 3D. Three projects that CARARE works on present on Thursday 19 November.
The morning session (09:30 to 12:00 CET) brings together XRculture and 3DBigDataSpace, two projects for which CARARE provides metadata expertise and aggregation services. XRculture uses 3D technology, artificial intelligence and extended reality to enhance Europe's shared digital cultural space. 3DBigDataSpace, which ran from February 2025 to July 2026 under the Digital Europe Programme, aggregated more than 70,000 3D models into the data space, over 1,200 of which are published on Europeana.eu, and built pipelines for AI enrichment and long-term storage.
The afternoon session (14:00 to 16:00 CET) is dedicated to 3D-4CH, the Online Competence Centre in 3D for Cultural Heritage, in which CARARE is a partner. 3D-4CH works to make 3D technologies and expertise more accessible to cultural heritage professionals and institutions. The session will look at current developments, approaches and challenges in creating and using 3D cultural heritage content.
The theme of 3D digitisation also opens the month on Tuesday 10 November, with sessions by EUreka3D-XR in the morning and HERITALISE in the afternoon.
