The event is a one half-day Web Conference taking place on Wednesday 27th May from 10:00 to 13:00 (CEST).

This initiative is promoted by INCEPTION and ARIADNEplus teams with the support of the “Unit Interactive Technologies, Digital for Culture and Education” of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (see the attached Letter of Endorsement).

The aim of the Web Conference is to discuss policies, strategies and initiatives involving digital 3D technologies for emergency situations, like the current pandemic outbreak, as well as to foster a better enjoyment of heritage by the audience. The participation of a wide range of players and stakeholders involved at different levels in the CH field will allow gathering valuable insights, analysis and advice for future developments in the sector.

A strong focus on good practices or success stories implemented during the lockdown will define the starting point for discussing how to face the recovery phase and establish a vision for a new sustainable way of accessing and understanding our cultural heritage. The Web Conference will also take into consideration the EU 3D digitization policy in the cultural heritage sector, which is already impacting the future direction of funding and will influence other policies and initiatives at the European, national and regional levels.

The Web Conference will be organized in three sessions respectively focused on resilience, recovery and sustainability of CH accessibility in the current, the short- and the long-time scenarios. Download the sessions document-PDF

Each session will be chaired by a representative among the promoters and it will include high-level speakers that will be asked to briefly explain their experiences and vision answering to key-questions.
