Europeana Hackathon Winners Workshop

The win­ners of the Hackathon were the Euro­peana­Globe team (Anja Jentzsch, Ulrike Krabo, Ela­heh Momeni, Petr Pri­dal and Rainer Simon) who cre­ated a beau­ti­ful map-based search inter­face using only open search and browser based components.

This app uses really cut­ting edge HTML5 and WebGL 3D-graphics in your browser so requires the lat­est Chrome or Fire­fox ver­sion to try it out.

End users select a date or defined time period from 1750 onwards to display content associated with map locations.

Search Short-cuts, the query suggestion algorithm designed by CNR within the framework of the ASSETS project participated with Diego Ceccarelli (CNR) and Hugo Huurdman (Timeless Future) were awarded the second prize.
