First meeting of the EU 'Committee of Wise Men' on digitisation
The European Union's Committee of Wise Men for the digitisation of European cultural heritage held its first assessment meeting in Madrid on the 17th June. The working party consists of Maurice Levy (French economist and businessman), Jacques de Decker (Belgian writer and journalist) and Elisabeth Niggemann (Director of the German National Library). Its task is to publish a report before the end of the year with guidelines on the digitisation of culture, the protection of creative works and public-private partnership for the digitisation of cultural material.
