CARARE dataset part of Europeana Linked Open Data pilot

Europeana is encouraging the use of Linked Open Data (LOD) for its metadata and through the Data Exchange Agreement (DEA) it signs with each and every one of its content providers.At present, nearly all of the CARARE data providers have signed the DEA with the expectation that the remaining partners will sign up by July so that all the datasets provided by CARARE to Europeana will be CC0 and LOD.

Europeana has just launched an excellent animation to explain something about LOD and its benefits for users and data providers.
