On 1 March 2012 the Europeana Fashion project was launched.

Europeana has published 2.4 million objects under CC0. The collections used in the Europeana LOD pilot come from 8 direct Europeana providers encompassing over 200 cultural institutions from 15 countries which include the SwNHB collection recently uploaded through CARARE.

The first CARARE dataset was successfully published by Europeana on Monday the 6th February from the Swedish National Heritage Board (SwNHB). The publication follows two years’ work on data preparation, the creation of a CARARE metadata schema tailored towards archaeological content and establishing the technology for a complete harvesting, aggregation and ingestion service.

At the end of October, the winners of the EuropeanaTech Hackathon held in Vienna, took part in a workshop designed to move their product ideas further along the path to a ‘marketable’ website or app.

The Chief Executive of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, Bruno Racine, has been elected to chair the Board of the Europeana Foundation, responsible for the EU’s primary cultural heritage showcase, Europeana.eu.
